Service learning project supports Art with a Heart in Healthcare
Beginning on Lower School campuses and continuing through grade 12, Episcopal School of Jacksonville fosters a commitment to community service. To strengthen students’ empathy for others and give back to those in-need, first and second grade students on St. Mark’s Campus are beginning a service learning project supporting Art with a Heart in Healthcare.
Art with a Heart in Healthcare is a non-profit organization that enhances the lives of young patients staying at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, Nemours Children’s Specialty Clinic, and Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital.
Now through February 9, students are collecting art supplies for patient “Art-to-Go” bags, writing heartfelt letters of encouragement to patients, and creating original art to brighten patient hospital rooms and enhance their healing process.
If you are interested in contributing art supplies, requested items are listed below. Collection bins will be located on St. Mark’s Campus at McCullough Lane and Kindness Loop (carpool areas) as well as the Lori Schiavone Commons.
