Legendary Singapore Math Educator Provides Virtual Instruction

Third grade students recently participated in a virtual math lesson with Greg Tang, best-selling children’s author and international math consultant. Tang is the author of eight award-winning children’s books including the New York Times best seller The Grapes of Math and the gold medal-winning eBook Math Appeal. During the interactive instruction, students worked on multiplication word problems. They utilized bar models used in Singapore math to show work and aid in efficient thinking. Everyone enjoyed a dance contest “brain break” with Tang at the end of the lesson!

“This was a great opportunity for students to build upon what they are learning in the classroom,” said Bridgett Stroud, Learning Specialist, St. Mark’s Campus. “The students really fed upon Tang’s energy. We hope to incorporate additional virtual workshops in the future.”
