A special invitation to upcoming Middle and Upper School Fine Arts performances

Dear Lower School Families,

As we all begin to feel the cooler temperatures and gear up for the holidays, I want to make you aware of the fine arts happenings in Middle and Upper School that are coming our way as a school community and extend the invitation for you to be a part of any of our performance audiences. We attempt to have earlier shows when possible to accommodate our younger students.

This week we open, Into The Woods, a wonderful musical based on characters from Grimm’s Fairy Tales woven together into an intriguing story about wishes, hopes, and community. The first act especially can be taken in alone and is short and bright. We recommend the Saturday matinee at 2:00 p.m. on 11/13 in the Deming Theatre at the Munnerlyn Campus to all of our lower school families. The show will also run Thursday and Friday Nov. 11 and 12 at 7:00 p.m. ESJ students are admitted free of charge. Parents can purchase tickets for this and all our events at www.esj.org/arts.

A new art gallery exhibit will be open and we would love for you to see it on your way into the theatre.

With Christmas around the corner, we cordially invite you to come to our annual choral and instrumental Christmas concert at St. Johns’ Cathedral in downtown Jacksonville on Dec. 3 at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. which is free and open to the public.

I also wanted to mention that the Rev. Adam Greene, Mtr. Teresa Seagle and I will be leading pilgrims to Israel from May 27-June 7, 2022. This school wide opportunity is for parents, grandparents, alumni, and students as we trace Jesus’ ministry through the land where it all took place. We welcome the opportunity to walk together in our spiritual journeys of faith. There is an informational meeting on the Munnerlyn Campus in the Munnerlyn Center Chorus Room on Nov. 17 at 5:00 p.m. if you are interested in knowing more. Please also see this link for more detailed information about the trip. https://shoresh.mvti.net/esj-2022

Thank you for letting ESJ partner with you in the education of the whole child. We would love to see you at any and all events.
