Winter After School Activities
Please review the below after school activities prior to clicking the button at the bottom of this page to sign up. Registering does not guarantee your child(ren) a spot due to capacity limitations. Dani Diem will follow-up with parents to confirm participation.
Note - athletics registration opens early December. They are included below for informational/planning purposes.
Village Dance
Grades Pre-K 3 & Pre-K 4

Contact Village Dance to join the ESJ - St. Mark’s Pre-K class. This cost is for staff to dress and walk your child to/from Village Dance (weather permitting). We do not offer a prorated rate if your child decides to no longer attend.

Homework & Study Skills Club
Grades 2 - 5
Instructor: Claire Pulignano
3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
November 1 - February 7 (when school is in session)
Max 15
Cost: $150
Students will have quiet time to do homework with support from Ms. Pulignano. Ms. Pulignano will also help students get organized for the week ahead and teach study skills.
Girls Running Club
Grades 3 - 5
Instructor: Megan Trumpler
3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
November 1 - February 7 (when school is in session)

Cost: $150 plus $10 book fee
Do you enjoy running or have you ever thought about wanting to try it? Here is your chance! The Girls Running Club will offer a chance to learn more about running and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. They will also read a book titled, "The Girls' Guide to Growth Mindset: A Can-Do Approach to Building Confidence, Courage, and Grit." After training each week, they will compete in the Ortega River Run* on February 26.
*Cost does not include registration for race - families will register on their own.
Volleyball (begins January 10, registration opens in December)
Grades 3-5
Practices: Monday & Thursday 3:30 - 4:45 p.m. No Thursday practice once games begin.
Games: Thursdays 4:30 p.m. or 5:30 p.m.

The ESJ-St. Mark's Campus’ volleyball program provides a fun environment where students in grades 3-5 can learn the basics of volleyball and compete in the NFISAC.
Jr. Eagles Cheer Team

GIGGLES & GIG
Grade 5
Facilitated by: Mrs. Nott along with staff from St. Mark's Church (Nic Mandolini, Director of Youth Ministry; Shannon Sanborn, Director of Children's Ministry; and the Rev. William Stokes, Assistant Rector)

$150 plus $20 supply fee
Fifth grade leaders have the opportunity to focus on team building, serving others, and encouraging one another. GIGGLES is an acronym for Girls Inspiring Girls to Grow, Love, Empathize and Serve. GIG stands for Guys Inspiring Guys.
St. Mark's Choristers

St. Mark's Church Choir Room

Students are invited to join St. Mark’s Church’s children’s choir program. Students rehearse Tuesday or Wednesday afternoons (come both days or just pick one) after school and must be available to sing for the 9:00 a.m. service at the church the second and fourth Sundays each month (church membership is not required). This is a great group that has a lot of fun learning about making music together.
Little Geniuses (Chess)
Grades Pre-K & Pre-K 4
Instructor: Coach REB
2:15 - 3:00 p.m.

Cost: $175 (includes chess set & shirt) OR $150 (once a chess set has been purchased)
Little Geniuses is a fun song-singing, laughing, dancing, clock-slapping, video, puppet show introduction to chess. Little Geniuses puts on a high-energy, 45-minute chess practice in which kids earn brightly-colored silicone wristbands and look forward to 22 daily activities. Kids report chess class to be the favorite part of their week because they find our developmentally targeted thinking activities compelling, exhilarating, gratifying, and FUN!
Knight School (Chess)
Grades K - 5

The Knight School chess approach is a unique, revolutionary, high-energy chess class, replete with fast, clock-slapping chess games, a dizzying array of super-fun chess activities, hilarious instruction, a strict bully-free environment, silicone wristbands for tactics mastery, puzzlers for candy, driving music, exhilarating weekly tactical lessons, and Mardi-Gras-bead chess tournaments every single day!

In S4, students will be exposed to a variety of sports activities, drills, and games. The program focuses on the Big 4 Sports (football, baseball, basketball, and soccer). All levels of experience and ability are welcomed. Enthusiastic, experienced coaches will guide this multi-sport program to provide a SAFE and FUN environment for students to play sports and improve upon their athletic skills. All equipment provided by S4.
S4 Sports Academy

Sing and Dance

Sing and Dance is a fun filled class that introduces preschoolers to the fundamentals of dance and music. The main portion of this class will include creative movement and singalong dances. The students will also learn basic movements that are used in the genre of ballet and jazz. Sing and Dance will help improve students’ creativity, coordination, musicality, and confidence. Most importantly, it will be lots of fun!
Jazz and Hip Hop
Grades 3-5
Instructor: Andrea Hagan
Maximum: 15 students
November 5 - February 11 (when school is in session)
3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
This class is perfect for students who want to expand the jazz and hip hop skills that they have learned throughout the school year. This dance class will focus on the fundamentals and technique of these two styles, while also teaching choreography. Students who sign up have the opportunity to perform in the Munnerlyn's Spring Dance Concert with the Middle and Upper School Dance Ensemble. St. Mark's Campus students in this class will learn a piece of choreography alongside the Beaches Campus after school dance students to bring to this concert.
