Sixth Grade Bowling Teaches Math Skills
Sixth graders went bowling Tuesday, an annual grade level activity.
“The field trip has a double purpose. It allows the kids an opportunity to get out of the classroom and get to know each other in a more relaxed, social setting.” said Mike Rickey, sixth grade instructor. “It also allows them to use the math concepts we have been covering in class.”
Students used their skills and lessons on decimals and whole numbers to find the mean, median, mode, range, and outliers of their bowling games.
This trip was completed within safe COVID guidelines. The students were the only occupants of the bowling alley; mask usage was required the entire trip.
