Building Skills with Programming and Robots
Munnerlyn Campus
Intro to Engineering students will soon be programming and running robots they build in the STEM Lab and SCL2 computer lab. Meanwhile, seventh grade students are learning basic robotic systems and how to assemble components along with applied programming. “Engaging in fun, real world projects leads students to greater STEM literacy and confidence in technology skills they may not have known they had!” said instructor Scott Givonetti. ESJ’s Munnerlyn Campus now has a FIRST Robotics team named the “904 RoboEagles.” Students will participate in FIRST Robotics league play with other schools in the Jacksonville area virtually at first and hopefully attend league events by 2021.
