Fine Arts Audition Notice – CHALK – August 23

AUDITION NOTICE

Chalk, a play written by nationally known poet and radio host Al Letson, centers around a group of kids making the transition to middle school as “relational aggression” manifests and begins to change the lives of the students. Through poetic monologues, Chalk reveals the inner voices of kids who are trapped in a society where bullying is tolerated in schools

and on social media.

Directed by guest artist Barbara Colaciello
This is an ensemble piece that requires 10 to 14 upper school actors. It incorporates movement, rhythm, poetic monologues, and utilizes a Greek chorus to intensify the drama.
Be prepared to tell a true story (under 2 minutes), improvise, and play theatre games.
