ESGN (Episcopal Student Generated News)

It may only be across the street, but for most Episcopal students, Beach Road Chicken Dinners might as well be located on another planet. Seniors turn a blind eye to the fried chicken joint when leaving campus for doubles. For other students seeking an after-school snack or a post-football game dinner, the allure of San Marco\'s trendy restaurants generally trumps the old Jacksonville favorite. We can affirm that the denial of Beach Road Chicken Dinner\'s credibility is a fatal error. Upon entering the restaurant for dinner, we were graced by the mouthwatering aroma of good ol\' country food. For reviewing purposes, we ordered a sampling of the menu: fried chicken, coleslaw, corn nuggets, creamed peas, mashed potatoes with gravy, rice, biscuits, and french fries. The food exceeded our highest expectations. The corn nuggets were fried to perfection, with a crispy exterior and a warm and sweet center. The creamy mashed potatoes and flavorful gravy made for a dynamic duo. The warm and airy biscuits, drizzled with honey, were a sweet accompaniment to our meal. Though all of our food items were tasty, the standout was none other than the famous Beach Road Fried Chicken. The meat was cooked to perfection, falling off the bone with ease and encasing the succulent meat was a crispy golden cloak of fried batter. As a whole, we were extremely satisfied with our meal at the restaurant. Everything from the service to the food was excellent, and we would gladly return. Beach Road Chicken Dinners is truly a gem of Jacksonville, and should be put on the map as a solid option for hungry Episcopal students.
