Fine Arts Students Share Talents on Touring Day
Touring Day 2017 is in the books! More than 100 performing and visual arts students represented ESJ well as they traveled in the Beaches area to bring our art to the local community. The first stop was just for the chorus and the touring company to share three songs with Sally and Jim “Jimbo” Deming. No one could imagine a Touring Day without Sally Deming, so into their intimate Nepune Beach house squeezed 80 students who surrounded Jimbo and sang songs with lyrics like “Can’t You Feel a Brand New Day” and “Won’t You Take Me Home.”
The formal performances took place at Vicar’s Landing and Fleet Landing. At Fleet Landing the students met a resident there by the name of Jim Kolster, former Head of Episcopal in the 1980’s. Residents there also include former faculty members Marlo Drake and Victoria Register-Freeman. It was a glorious day of sharing our gifts and talents in order to bless our community!
