Influence & Effects of Social Media and Screen Time – March 7, 2019

Episcopal, in partnership with Baptist Health, will present “Influence & Effects of Social Media and Screen Time” on March 7, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. in the Munnerlyn Center. This event is free and open to the public, and parents and students are encouraged to attend.

Raj Loungani, MD, MPH and De’Von Patterson, PhD will address screen time recommendations from AAP, the impact of social media and screen time on sleep, stress, behavior and physical health, as well as the dangers to children of thought content (comparison via social media) and gaming and internet addiction. Resources and parental guidance for dealing with push-back from trying to limit screen time will be offered.
