Lastinger Fellowship Provides Professional Development for St. Mark’s Campus Faculty Member

Megan Trumpler, St. Mark’s Campus Media Specialist, recently traveled to Philadelphia, PA and attended the International Society for Technology in Education Conference followed by a three-day American Revolution “field trip.”  This hands-on learning experience was made possible thanks to the Lastinger Summer Scholars Fund, which provides professional development for selected Episcopal faculty.

 

“I have a true passion and interest in learning as much as I can about integrating technology into curriculum and lessons,” said Megan.  “Learning about the latest and most engaging technologies will enhance my students’ learning and what they are able to do with technology in their futures.”

 

On her American Revolution tour, Megan visited the Museum of the American Revolution, National Constitution Center, Independence Hall/Liberty Bell, National Liberty Museum, and the Betsy Ross House. She will utilize these visits to gain ideas and inspiration to create opportunities for fifth grade students to analyze primary and secondary documents during their American Revolution social studies unit.

 

“I am grateful to Episcopal for enabling me to have this first-hand experience,” said Megan. “I am energized to share what I have learned with colleagues and apply innovations in technology in the classroom.”
