Bob Kirk Featured in Studio Potter
Fine Arts instructor Bob Kirk’s article on teaching Ceramics in Private school was recently published in one of the top international ceramics education magazines, Studio Potter. In March, 2019, Bob was a member of a panel at the annual conference of The National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA). The article (subscription only) features an interview with Bob and fellow panelists.
Bob shares in the interview “When [students] share and discuss their work with other teachers, parents, and friends who may not be involved in the arts, they establish their identity within their greater community…Having the opportunity to direct their own critiques and work together in productive ways will help them create higher level work. In our community each year, art organizations do service projects and participate in exhibitions locally, which builds goodwill and makes our communities rich with culture.”
