Government Students Win Essay Contests 

AP U.S. Government and Politics students participated in the United States Middle District Court of Florida’s essay contest this year. This year’s prompt focused on evaluating the strategies used by proponents of the Nineteenth Amendment (suffragists) in order to change opinions about voting rights for women.

SEniors Mike Horning, Don Kohla, and Cooper Richart, received Honorable Mention awards. Izzy Ritch ’21 won third place for her essay on the National Women’s Party.

Students were honored in a ceremony at the Bryan Simpson Courthouse on November 13.
