The Italy Photography Program departs from Jacksonville in late May/early June for the Venice Biennale. The program provides students with 14 days to embark on the adventure of a lifetime while engaging with historical artworks and contemporary art from all over the world and making new work of their own. The group travels to Venice, Milan, and Florence. While in Venice, time is spent at the Venice Biennale and learning about glass blowing in Murano, among many other stops. The Prada Foundation and the Wes Anderson Café will just be a taste of what Milan has to offer. The abundance of offerings in Florence will include venturing to the highest peak of the city to hear monks chant, visiting Boboli Gardens, seeing David, the Uffizi, climbing to the top of Duomo, and much more. The trip is led by Instructor of Photography Mark S. Zimmerman along with a minimum of one other chaperone.
