Thespian Troupe Wins Superior at Districts

ESJ’s Thespian Troupe competed at districts this weekend with a one-act, “Chalk,” and received the highest rating of Superior. The storytelling piece was written by Al Letson, the American poet, playwright, performer, journalist, and radio and podcast host, and directed by Barbara Colaciello of Babs’Lab, which is part of the CoRK Arts District in Jacksonville. The collaboration was part of the Episcopal & Jacksonville: Partners in Arts initiative. The cast was also awarded Best Ensemble. “That was the greatest honor of all — teamwork is at the heart of everything we accomplish at Episcopal,” says Taylor Horne ’00, Upper School Theatre Director and Performing Arts Department Chair. The cast and crew included Roscoe Bell ’19, Mariel Colao ’20, Izzy Colon ’21, Ariel Largon ’21, Michelle Mahfoud ’19, Anna Mayo ’20, Caroline Million ’21, Jake Moorehead ’19, Nandini Tandon ’20, and Anne-Charles Zimmer ’20. Jewel Hardwick ’20 was awarded the All-Star Cast for her outstanding performance.
